Turn Your Screen Time Into Prayer Time.
Pray. Walk. Unlock. — a Christian micro-habit for any time the phone pulls you in.
Free 7-day trial · No account required
The average phone is checked 144 times a day. Prayer rarely gets any of that attention back.
Road to Emmaus is a prayer app built for Christians who want to guard their attention before the feed does. Open one of 365 original contemplative prayers, let Prayer Lock shield the apps you choose using Apple's Screen Time controls, and walk a short distance to unlock again.

Why two minutes works.
Habits under five minutes get done. Habits over twenty rarely do. BJ Fogg's Tiny Habits research and James Clear's work on behavior design both land on the same point: consistency beats intensity, and small actions compound. Road to Emmaus fits into the two-minute gaps you’d usually lose to the feed — so the phone itself becomes the cue to pray, not the reason you didn’t.

Quietly different.
- 365 original prayers — written for this app, each capped at about 80 words. No AI, no scraped devotionals.
- Prayer Lock uses Apple's FamilyControls framework so your app selections never leave your device.
- Nothing leaves your phone — no accounts, no analytics, no cloud prayer storage, no AI pipeline, no ads.
- Inspired by Luke 24 — the disciples who walked with Jesus to Emmaus. The app brings that rhythm — prayer, walking, recognition — into a daily practice.
* Questions *
- How long does one session take?
- About seven minutes — two for the prayer and five for a 500-step walk. Your step goal is adjustable from 100 to 15,000 steps.
- Which apps get locked?
- Any apps you choose. Select specific apps or entire categories in Settings. Prayer Lock is built on Apple's Screen Time controls, so your selections stay on your device.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Prayers, streaks, and step counts stay on your device. No internet connection is required.
- Is Road to Emmaus Catholic or Protestant?
- Inspired by the Catholic contemplative tradition and the Gospel of Luke, but the 365 prayers are written in a broad Christian tone welcome to any denomination.
- Does it use AI to write the prayers?
- No. Every prayer is original and human-written. Your prayer data never leaves your phone to train any AI system.
- Why 500 steps instead of a longer walk?
- Because habits under five minutes get done and longer ones don’t. A small, survivable default is what keeps the streak alive on hard days.
- How much does it cost?
- Seven days free. After the trial, a subscription keeps Prayer Lock, reminders, and the full prayer library active. Cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.
